Billing Policies

Billing cycles begin at the start of each of our 3 sessions (Fall/Spring/Summer). Tuition is set for the duration of a session. You will receive a mailed invoice before the start of each school session. Statements will be e-mailed to you monthly to show any outstanding balance. Tuition remains the same whether it's a long (5 weeks) or short (3 weeks) month. We do not bill on a per lesson basis.

Due Date

At least one month of tuition is due by the first of the month. New students must be paid up for the month by their first lesson.

Methods of Payment

All payments should be sent directly to Dave Simon's Rock School and are due upon receipt of an invoice.  Payments can also be put into the 'Drop Box" located near the front counter. Payments may be made by check, money order or by on line credit card using www.paypal.com.  All checks should be made payable to: "Dave Simon's Rock School”.

Late Fees

A $10.00 late fee will be assessed to all accounts not current on the 8th of each month. Late fees will be enforced.

Credits

Credits for cancelled lessons and/or group rehearsals will be given if the lesson or rehearsal is cancelled by Dave Simon's Rock School. Credits are not issued for holidays or school breaks.  School breaks include winter, spring, and summer breaks and are based on the Parkway School District calendar.

Holidays

Lessons and rehearsals will not be held on legal holidays. These include New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. Notifications will be sent out each session to specify dates.

Annual Registration Fees

An annual registration fee of $25 will be charged per student; $15 for a second family member and $10 for the third. Additional family members will not be charged. Please include the registration fee in your first payment.

Student Absence

The instructor has reserved a lesson time exclusively for each student. If the student is unable to attend their scheduled lesson, the full amount of the lesson will be charged. Dave Simon's Rock School does not offer make-up lessons.

Snow and Bad Weather

We make our snow closing decisions by 1:30 pm on the day of the storm. When we close due to the weather, we will attempt to call each student. We will leave a message on the school's answering machine as well. You can also check local TV and radio for closings. Along the same lines, it sometimes becomes necessary to release students before the regular ending time due to weather conditions and possible delays. A make-up schedule will be arranged for make-up lessons and rehearsals. We do not issue credits when the school closes due to weather.

Terminating Enrollment

If you wish to terminate enrollment, written notification is required before the 1st of the upcoming month. You can e-mail your request to terminate enrollment or fill out a “Termination of Enrollment” form at Rock School. You will be responsible for paying for the entire month if you terminate your enrollment in the middle of the month. Monthly billing will continue until the office receives written notice.

Book and Material Fees

All students will be charged a one time fee for method books used in private lessons.

Instrument Rental Fees

A rental fee will be applied to your account if your child does not bring their guitar, bass or drum sticks to their lesson or rehearsal ($3 for guitars; $1 for drum sticks).

Returned Checks

A $20 fee will be charged for all returned checks.

Late Pick-Ups

All students must be picked up no later than 15 minutes after their lesson, rehearsal or performance. This includes all rehearsals and performances. A late pick up fee will be assessed if a staff member is required to stay after closing to wait with your child until picked up.

Grounds for Dismissal

Rock School reserves the right to dismiss any student for the following reasons:

-Lack of interest or effort to progress

-Frequent absences (including more than 3 consecutive missed lessons)

-Frequent tardiness

-Behavioral problems

Attendance for Band Rehearsals

It is important for the progress and morale of our bands that all students attend rehearsals. Students who miss more than 3 band rehearsals during the course of a session or concert season could be dismissed from the band.
